Chanel Watkins

Hello, my name is Chanel Watkins. I was born and raised in Louisville, KY. I've traveled many places, but Louisville will always be where my roots lie.

I received a dual Master's degree in Social Work and Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Louisville. I have 6+ years of experience in advocating for individuals and families through international training, residential clinical work, and community-based protective services. I've had the opportunity to travel to places like Tanzania and Trinidad & Tobago to study abroad and administer macro-work; which included organizing food banks and monthly funding to at-risk natives. In addition to my clinical work, I have also completed 300 hours of training in Ayurvedic Medicine and Trauma-Informed Yoga.

When working with clients, I ensure a practice that is deeply rooted in empowering and guiding clients towards change, restoration, and growth. I encourage a collaborative, judgement-free space for individuals to explore all parts of themselves. I utilize holistic trauma-informed interventions and integrate evidence-based clinical modalities (DBT, CBT, EFT etc). I work to destigmatize mental health in all communities, and assist all in becoming the healthiest and happiest versions of themselves.

I find much gratitude that your journey has led you to a space of healing and restoration. I believe there's no greater mastery than the mastery of one's self; so why not start with you? Life has many transitions and it's important that you are balanced to take on every step.
