MEET SHANIECE!
Hi there! I’m Shaniece Austin(she/they), a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor based in Louisville,Kentucky. I was born in Los Angeles, California, but spent much of my formative years in the Appalachian mountains of Tennessee, Virginia, and Kentucky. Those experiences taught me the value of adaptability, the importance of relationships, and the strength found in community. After five years in Louisville, I’m proud to call it home.
MY BACKGROUND
I hold a Master of Education in Counseling and Human Development from Lindsey Wilson College and am licensed by the Kentucky Board of Licensed Professional Counselors. I specialize in working with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, gender identity, body image, childhood trauma, racial trauma, and recovery from domestic violence. My experience spans a wide range of ages and backgrounds, and I approach each person’s journey with compassion, curiosity, and respect. My style is person-centered and
nonjudgmental, with a strong focus on building a therapeutic relationship—because I believe healing begins with safety and trust.
Outside of my professional life, I love spending time with my family watching movies and sports while snuggling with my 10-year-old Siamese cat, KJ. I’m an avid reader of fantasy, sci-fi, and historical fiction, and I unwind by playing video games like Sims 4, where creativity and storytelling come to life. I see therapy as a collaborative journey. While each of us holds the wisdom to understand ourselves, life experiences can sometimes cloud that inner clarity. My role is to walk alongside you as you reconnect with the version of yourself that’s been there all along—ready to grow, heal, and thrive. You already have what it takes to heal. I’m here to help you trust that—and move forward with confidence.
In solidarity and support.
